Product Process of Premium OEM Products

Pattern Creation

The process begins with the creation of a wax or plastic pattern that replicates the desired part. This pattern is often produced using a mold or CNC machining.

Pattern Assembly

Multiple wax patterns, called a cluster, are attached to a central wax gating system to form a tree-like structure. This gating system allows molten metal to flow into the patterns.

Investment

The pattern cluster is dipped or coated with a refractory slurry. After each coat, it is sprinkled with fine ceramic sand to build up a ceramic shell around the patterns. This creates a heat-resistant mold.

Dewaxing

The ceramic-shell-coated pattern assembly is heated to melt and remove the wax, leaving behind a cavity in the shape of the original pattern.

Preheating:

The ceramic shells are preheated to prepare them for the molten metal.

Casting

Molten metal, often heated in an induction furnace, is poured into the preheated ceramic shells. The metal fills the cavity left by the melted wax, forming the final part.

Solidification

The molten metal cools and solidifies within the ceramic shell, taking on the shape of the pattern.

Shell Removal:

After the metal has cooled and solidified, the ceramic shell is removed, typically through mechanical or chemical means, revealing the cast metal part.

Cutting and Finishing

The cast part may require trimming, gating removal, and surface finishing to meet specific dimensional and surface quality requirements.

Quality Control

The final castings undergo rigorous quality control measures, including dimensional inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) to ensure they meet specified standards.
